Capitol Hill Yoga is your community yoga studio. Have a thought or suggestion? Let us know. We encourage you to connect globally and to live, grow, shop, learn and inspire locally.

Community Giving

Capitol Hill Yoga will feature a new charitable giving opportunity each quarter. The program’s mission is to draw attention to the cause and to further the education and enrichment of our community locally and globally.

July - September 2010: Kids Set Sail

Kids Set Sail (KSS) is a summer day camp offered through DC Sail, the community sailing program of the National Maritime Heritage Foundation. The goal is to teach young people the skills they will need to be successful sailors, the educational components behind how a boat functions, and lifetime skills such as teamwork, decision-making and respect for our environment. Sailing teaches skills that are used on and off the water and these programs instill lessons that last a lifetime.

KSS summer camp is for students of ages 7-14. KSS seeks to increase students’ knowledge of science, technology, engineering and math concepts as they relate to sailing. KSS engages youth in physical fitness, teaches leadership, teamwork and decision-making skills, and helps youth develop a sense of accomplishment in an unfamiliar environment.

Please join Capitol Hill Yoga this summer in sending cool breezes to the Kids Set Sail program. To learn and/or give more please click here.

Capitol Hill Yoga will donate 25% of proceeds from our monthly “Turn On, Tune In, Bliss Out” workshops to Kids Set Sail. Our restorative workshop is a peaceful way to spend your weekend afternoon and it is open to students of all ages and abilities.

And as always we will have the community jar in the lobby to accept monetary donations for Kids Set Sail. Live your yoga on and off the mat!

TOP FIVE REASONS for dropping a donation in the studio jar:

  1. A small gift reminds you of your place in the greater whole
  2. You just had an amazing class and feel grateful
  3. You feel fortunate and know other people are having a harder time right now
  4. You enjoyed a nice cup of tea in the studio
  5. You like that we don't charge to borrow a yoga mat
